Snooker star Mark Allen has secured his spot in the main draw of the 2024 International Championship after defeating Farakh Ajaib, the world No. 111. The world No. 3 faced tough competition in the early stages of the match but managed to pull through with back-to-back breaks of 127 and 123 to clinch victory.

In a gripping battle, Allen emerged victorious with a score of 6-3 against Ajaib. The match kicked off with Ajaib taking the lead in the first frame after a nervy start from Allen. However, the Pistol quickly regained control in the second frame with a break of 43 to even the score.

Despite Ajaib’s efforts to stay in the game by putting together some impressive shots, a missed opportunity on the black allowed Allen to level the match at 1-1. Allen then pushed ahead with a break of 62 in the third frame to take the lead for the first time.

The fourth frame saw Ajaib initially in the lead with a 6-0 advantage, but Allen managed to turn the tables with a strong recovery. The frame remained closely contested until Ajaib secured a 56-21 lead after a series of safety shots and potting a long-range red.

After the break, Allen continued his dominance, extending his lead to 3-2 with a spectacular break of 127 in the fifth frame. He further solidified his position with another impressive break of 123 in the sixth frame to go up 4-2.

As the match progressed, Allen seemed poised to seal the victory as he broke for 60 in the final frame. Despite Ajaib’s efforts to stay in the game and narrow the gap to 64-61, a missed pot on the pink ball proved costly as Allen capitalized on the opportunity to secure a 6-3 win.

With this triumph, Allen joins the ranks of top players like world No. 1 Judd Trump in the main draw of the prestigious International Championship. The snooker world eagerly anticipates Allen’s performance in the upcoming tournament as he continues to showcase his skill and prowess on the green baize.
